Yellow Cake Radio plays independent and underground artists between and during our live shows. Send one finished track as an MP3. Every submission is heard by a person, and we'll email you if it goes into rotation.

  1. 01Upload your MP3 and cover art. If your file already has its title, artist and cover inside it, we'll fill the form in for you.
  2. 02Tell us who you are so we can credit you and reach you.
  3. 03Read and sign the agreement. It lets us play your track without royalties, and explains how to take it down at any time.

Yellow Cake Radio — Artist Submission Agreement

1. Who this is between

This agreement is between you (the person signing below, and anyone you represent) and Yellow Cake Radio ("we", "us"). It covers the recording and the song you upload with this form (the "Track"), and the cover art you upload with it.

2. You keep ownership

You keep all ownership of the Track and the artwork. Nothing in this agreement transfers your copyright to us.

3. What you allow us to do

You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to:

  • broadcast and stream the Track on Yellow Cake Radio, including on our website, apps and any service that carries our stream;
  • include the Track in live shows, and keep and share recordings of those shows (for example on Mixcloud);
  • store copies of the Track and artwork so we can do the above; and
  • use your artist name, the Track title, the artwork and short excerpts (up to 30 seconds) to promote the station and the Track.

This permission starts when you submit and lasts until you ask us to remove the Track (section 6).

4. No royalties or fees

You agree that we owe no royalties, licence fees or other payments, to you or to anyone you represent, for any use allowed in section 3. To the fullest extent the law allows, you waive any right to collect such payments from us for those uses.

If a record label, distributor, publisher, or a collecting society or performing rights organisation (such as SoundExchange, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, GMR, PPL or PRS) controls or collects for any rights in the Track, you confirm that you have their permission to grant this agreement, or you have told us about them in the message box above. If you can't confirm this, please don't submit the Track.

5. Your promises

  • You wrote and recorded the Track, or you have the right to make this agreement for everyone who did, including producers, featured artists, co-writers and owners of any samples or beats.
  • The Track and artwork don't break anyone else's rights.
  • You are 18 or older. If you aren't, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign this form for you.

If any of these promises turns out to be untrue and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable losses from that claim.

6. Removing your music

You can ask us to stop playing the Track at any time. Email us from the email address you used on this form, with the subject "Remove: [Artist] – [Track title]". Within 14 days of your request we will take the Track out of rotation, stop including it in new broadcasts, and delete the files you uploaded. Recordings of past live shows that already included the Track may stay available; if you'd like one of those taken down as well, say so in your email and we will do our best.

7. Our choices

Submitting doesn't guarantee airplay. We may decide whether, when and how often to play the Track, and we may stop playing it at any time. We don't pay for submissions, and we never charge artists to submit.

8. Your details

We use the contact details on this form only to review your submission, credit you and contact you about it. We don't sell them.

9. Electronic signature

By typing your full legal name and signing below, you agree to this agreement and accept that your electronic signature has the same effect as a handwritten one. We keep a copy of your signature, the date and the version of this agreement.
